In term life, the premium is guaranteed between 10 to 30 years, and can be renewed up to the age of 100 years old. Universal life offers insurance until the age of 121. Survivor life covers two people, and is paid when the last person dies, or at age 95. In addition to life insurance, Protective Life also offers variable, indexed, fixed, and immediate annuities. History Of Protective Life InsuranceProtective Life Insurance Co. was created in 1907 by former Alabama Governor William Dorsey Jelks. It sought to cover residents of Alabama, and it spread throughout the South. In 1969, under the leadership of William Ruston III, Protective Life Insurance expanded to coverage for all Americans. In 1992, Drayton Naber, Jr. took the helm of the company, and during his term acquired West Coast Life and Lyndon Proprerty Insurance in St. Louis. In 2002, John D. Johns became CEO. Protective's RatingsAs of November 2008, Protective Life received a rating of A+ (Superior) from A.M. Best, A+ (Strong) from Fitch, AA (Very Strong) from Standard & Poor's, and A1 (Good) from Moody's Investor Service.
