Modern Woodmen of America

Write a review of Modern Woodmen

Modern Woodmen of America offers term life insurance with flexible options through its Maximizer product offering. Level death benefit protection is available up to age 95, and term options cover 10-, 15-, 20- or 30-year plans. The company notes the significant benefit of the Maximizer plan is the flexibility to convert your term coverage into whole life coverage should your personal circumstances dictate, enabling you to lock in premiums and accelerate the accumulation of funds for down the road by building cash value in your coverage certificate.

Buyers may also add riders to the Maximizer plan for accidental death (which can pay double your death benefit), return of premium (which returns annual base premiums at the end of the term), or waiver of premium (which pays premiums should you become disabled) benefits.

Modern Woodmen's History

Modern Woodmen of America was founded by Joseph Cullen Root in 1883. The company's name is based on a parable about woodmen clearing forests to build homes and cultivate communities for their families, symbolic in Root's mind of his goal of clearing financial burdens from families' futures. Boasting more than $7 billion in assets, the company operates as a fraternal benefit society.
