The History of AFLAC

AFLAC, the American Family Life Assurance Company, was founded in 1955 by three brothers, John, Paul and Bill Amos, who rented six small rooms in an office building in Columbus, Georgia. By the end of their first year, they had 6,426 policyholders and a total of $388,000 in assets. Since the 1980s, AFLAC has sold life insurance policies in all 50 states and Territories. Today, AFLAC is a Fortune 500 company and provides insurance to more than 40 million people worldwide.
