ACE Life Insurance

As a member of the ACE Group of Companies, ACE USA has offices operating in 18 U.S. cities. Mainly serving corporate clients but also small businesses, not-for-profits and public institutions, ACE USA offers more than 170 different products and services. The line of insurance at ACE USA includes casualty, property, life, medical and liability insurance. It also offers risk management services, workers' compensation packages, and environmental liability policies, among others. ACE USA specializes in tailoring comprehensive products to be industry-specific and promises "seamless coordination between the units within ACE" to provide superior service.

History

Started in 1985 by a consortium of 34 Fortune 500 companies, ACE Limited opened the doors to its first office in Bermuda. Growing slowly, by 1993, ACE was publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and in 1997, became licensed to sell insurance in the European Union. After acquiring U.S. based Westchester Fire Insurance Co., a year later, ACE USA was formed in 1999. Following it global goals, ACE Limited received approval to start selling insurance in China and Vietnam in 2005. Today, the ACE Group of Companies manages more than $72 billion in assets and nearly $18 billion in gross written premiums.

Ratings

ACE USA received high ratings from the industry's independent ratings agencies for 2008. Both A.M. Best and Standard & Poor's gave ACE USA a rating of "A+." Moody's gave the company an "A2" rating. Finally, "AA-" was the rating given by Fitch's.
